Expansion Joint Systems

Expansion joints are designed to move as different components of a structure flex under load. These joints commonly flex several inches as a result of load changes. Expired expansion joints can restrict the necessary movement, resulting in damage to structural components. Additionally, malfunctioning expansion joints can allow water to enter the system resulting in corrosion of building materials. Engineered Restorations, Inc.’s expansion joint replacement services include removal of expired expansion joints, and replacement of expansion joints with new, long lasting materials in order to preserve the functionality of the joint structure. 

Polyurethane Injection and Grouting

Leaking cracks and joints in concrete can lead to corrosion of steel reinforcement and can pose a maintenance problem. Engineered Restorations, Inc. utilizes water activated polyurethane grouts that are injected into cracks or joints to effectively halt water flow. The polyurethane products used by Engineered Restorations, Inc. are non-flammable, NSF approved for potable water, and essentially non-toxic. Proprietary variable pressure and ration injection pumps are used to ensure proper installation. In addition to cracks in concrete, polyurethane grouts are routinely used by Engineered Restorations, Inc. to stabilize soils, fill voids and to encase underground structures. 

Pool Coating Systems

Waterproofing membranes and coatings installed in pools and fountains deteriorate over time due to various factors including UV rays and chemicals used to treat the water. Engineered Restorations, Inc. utilizes chemical and abrasion resistant waterproofing coatings to restore the soundness  and appeal of your pool or water feature.

Below Grade Waterproofing

Engineered Restorations, Inc. applies various liquid and self-adhering sheet membrane systems and drainage systems designed to provide waterproofing protection for below-grade foundation walls, tunnels, and parking structures. The cured membrane prevents water migration on both vertical and horizontal applications reducing the possibility of water intrusion and extending the life of your structure.

Elastomeric Coatings

Elastomeric coatings provide a flexible waterproof barrier that seals out water on above grade exterior walls and retains the aesthetics of conventional coatings, but provide supplemental properties that allow for bridging of small cracks while enabling the building to breathe.Elastomeric coatings are resistant to sunlight, heat, cold and wind driven rain, and are available in a myriad of colors. Engineered Restorations, Inc. has installed elastomeric coatings to masonry, concrete, stucco and wood substrates on hundreds of projects throughout the southeast. 

Balcony / Plaza Deck Waterproofing

Repair and restoration of balconies can include concrete repair, railing removal/reinstallation or replacement, deck coatings, replacement of caulk and repair of adjacent brick, stucco or other exterior wall finishes all within close proximity to the owner's living quarters. With all of the potential activities listed above taking place within feet of the living quarters, Engineered Restorations, Inc. provides a consistent systemic approach to these repairs to ensure success of the project.

Vehicular & Pedestrian Traffic Coatings

Vehicular Traffic Coating Systems are designed to protect reinforced concrete parking structures by providing a seamless, durable, skid-resistant "membrane" preventing ingress of moisture and chlorides that can lead to premature deterioration. Vehicular traffic coating services are typically performed in several coats after shot blasting the surface of the parking deck, and preparing the surface for the coating. Pedestrian Traffic Coating Systems are typically installed on ramps, walkways, and both large and small decks within complexes. The coating system has to be waterproof, but does not require the durability of a vehicular coating system.
