2009 ICRI Georgia Project of The Year Recipient. Corrosion related deterioration of the buildings exterior exposed columns were deemed structurally unsound. After shoriing was put into place, ERI repaired the damaged columns by removing the unsound material from each of the 36 columns, abrasively blasted the substrate, installed new reinforcement, and installed a one component shrinkage compensated micro-concrete designed for large volume structural repairs. After repairs were complete, a 100% acrylic coating was applied to all concrete surfaces.

Numerous wrecks into the concrete crash wall of turn number 3 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway had caused cracks and spalling. Rainwater was entering the cracks, compounding damage by freeze/thaw cycles. AMS personnel deemed the wall section too dangerous in its current state for an upcoming NASCAR race. Another concern was that a new “Safewall” system was due to be installed after the race. In its deteriorated condition, the wall section could not accommodate the Safewall anchorages and attachments. ERI devised a repair method consisting of low viscosity epoxy injection and high strength polymer modified mortar. Engineered Restorations, Inc. completed the repair in only three days, which provided a two day window prior to race-day, much to the relief of AMS personnel.

Specialized Concrete Placement

This Design-Bid-Build project consisted of the structural repair of two adjacent pedestrian bridges on the GSU campus along with repairs to the concrete slab, handicap ramp and stairs. Pedestrian safety was of upmost importance to GSU and ERI provided the knowledge and expertise to safely perform the work within the budget submitted and timeframe allowed.

ERI successfully repaired a damaged clear well structure at the Quarles Water Treatment Plant in Cobb County Georgia. The repair work included jacking and supporting slabs, forming and pouring an additional support column inside the clear well, removing damaged concrete, coating exposed rebar, patching damaged concrete, and re-establishing the water-tight integrity of several construction joints.

Morgan Falls is a small hydroelectric dam located on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell, Georgia. The dam was originally constructed in 1904 by Georgia Power to provide electricity for Atlanta's streetcars, it now provides enough power for about 4400 homes. ERI performed specialized concrete repair to the downstream spillway face utilizing polymer modified mortar.

The Sheraton Downtown Atlanta is a 763 room hotel located in Atlanta’s central business district. Over the years, ERI has performed numerous services for Sheraton Atlanta including: emergency repairs to pool deck atrium consisting of shoring and repairing existing wood columns, beams, and decking and installation of added steel supports, installation of load transfer devices at parking deck, re-caulking of joints at exterior drive, providing a vehicular traffic coat and re-striping of drive at valet area, clean and apply acrylic coating to exterior planters, and performed numerous leak investigations and repairs.
