Spalls, honeycombs or unconsolidated concrete can be repaired using a wide variety of materials and application techniques including hand and machine applied polymer systems and epoxy bonded conventional concrete. These processes return the concrete member back to its original designed condition.

Originally designed and constructed as a retail building, the structure located in Atlanta, GA was being converted to a self-storage facility resulting in the need to provide additional structural capacity to the structure to handle the additional floor loads that would be present. ERI utilized and installed Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) and carbon fiber reinforcing bars to increase the existing capacity from approximately 40 psf to over 100 psf.

ERI performed repairs and re-stabilization to existing precast concrete fascia panels. This work was accomplished by removing existing parapet caps and existing sealants to expose the embed connections and install new structural components necessary to provide proper bearing capacity.

2009 ICRI Georgia Project of The Year Recipient. Corrosion related deterioration of the buildings exterior exposed columns were deemed structurally unsound. After shoriing was put into place, ERI repaired the damaged columns by removing the unsound material from each of the 36 columns, abrasively blasted the substrate, installed new reinforcement, and installed a one component shrinkage compensated micro-concrete designed for large volume structural repairs. After repairs were complete, a 100% acrylic coating was applied to all concrete surfaces.

95 year old bridge located in Augusta, GA was deemd structurally unsound due to deterioration and erosion of concrete support columns and foundation. ERI, working 7 days and week for 4 weeks, implemented repair methods that included full depth replacement of deteriorated concrete utilizing micro-silica enhanced concrete, fibrous polymer mortar repair of shallow spalls, and high strength epoxy resin injection of cracks. Once complete, bridge was re-opened and deemed structurally sound.

The Certainteed Corporation contacted Engineered Restorations to repair its warehouse flooring that had been damaged over time due to constant hard rubber tire forklift traffic. ERI’s goal was to help Certainteed preserve the floor slabs, thus curbing warehouse facility and equipment maintenance costs. Services performed included cleaning and sealing of joints and cracks, repair of spalled concrete, and undersealing of slabs for the entire warehouse floor. Work was performed after hours in order to allow for proper curing time and to not impeded normal warehouse operations.

ERI successfully repaired a damaged clear well structure at the Quarles Water Treatment Plant in Cobb County Georgia. The repair work included jacking and supporting slabs, forming and pouring an additional support column inside the clear well, removing damaged concrete, coating exposed rebar, patching damaged concrete, and re-establishing the water-tight integrity of several construction joints.

The Lenox Building is a 20 story, 360,000 SF class "A" office building ideally located in the Buckhead submarket adjacent to Lenox Square Mall. ERI has performed numerous services throughout the years including: planter waterproofing, application of vehicular traffic coating to the parking structure, various investigations and repairs of leaks, repair and replacement of the buildings stone panel facade, and structural concrete repairs as needed.
