Concrete structures crack, spall, leak, and deteriorate for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, improper design or construction, excessive movement or loading, and general weathering from the elements. Engineered Restorations, Inc. implements the use of polymer modified mortars and polyurethane grouts, and uniquely enhanced concrete mixes to repair and restore concrete to its original intended design. Cleaning of concrete is also performed utilizing water and abrasive blasting along with a variety of other methods utilized by Engineered Restorations, Inc.

95 year old bridge located in Augusta, GA was deemd structurally unsound due to deterioration and erosion of concrete support columns and foundation. ERI, working 7 days and week for 4 weeks, implemented repair methods that included full depth replacement of deteriorated concrete utilizing micro-silica enhanced concrete, fibrous polymer mortar repair of shallow spalls, and high strength epoxy resin injection of cracks. Once complete, bridge was re-opened and deemed structurally sound.

Concrete Repair and Cleaning, Expansion Joint Systems

ERI was hired during a routine maintenance shut-down to clean, repair and disinfect two clear wells at the AFCWTP. The process consisted of draining the clear wells, pressure wash the interior surfaces, remove residuals from the bottom surface, repair any damaged concrete, replace existing expansion joint material with 8" and 12" Combiflex expansion joints, and lastly disinfect interior surfaces utilizing approved AWWA methods.

When it was first built in 1967, the Regency Hyatt House, as the hotel was originally called, instantly became one of the most recognized buildings in Atlanta, and its open-air 22-story atrium and revolving rooftop restaurant became a "must-see" attraction by Atlantans and tourists alike. In recent years, the Hyatt Regency Atlanta has undergone a $65 million transformation. ERI's part in the transformation involved award winning exterior restoration services which included - waterproofing of the Polaris Dome, repair and coat concrete at circular ring around dome, complete exterior restoration  of Atrium Towers including patching, washing, and coating all vertical surfaces, and wet glazing and coating of the Ivy Tower. ERI was awarded the 2005 ACI Georgia - 1st Place (Restoration) and 2006 ICRI Georgia Outstanding Project of the Year awards for its efforts.

ERI performed replacement of shear keys, construction joints, and post tensioned grout pockets on elevated MARTA rail lines throughout the city of Atlanta. Work took place on consecutive 54 hour shifts while the MARTA trains were in use utilizing single rail transport. The project was completed 6 months in advance of anticipated schedule.
