Concrete members that require additional tensile or flexural strength or experience unwanted deflection are repaired utilizing state-of-the-art carbon fiber technology to effectively increase capacity and return structural integrity. In addition, carbon fiber can be used as a “jacket” for pile or column reinforcement and containment.

14th Street Self Storage
Carbon Fiber Strengthening, Spall Repair and Patching
Originally designed and constructed as a retail building, the structure located in Atlanta, GA was being converted to a self-storage facility resulting in the need to provide additional structural capacity to the structure to handle the additional floor loads that would be present. ERI utilized and installed Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) and carbon fiber reinforcing bars to increase the existing capacity from approximately 40 psf to over 100 psf.

City of Atlanta Peachtree Trunkline
Carbon Fiber Strengthening, Crack Repair and Sealing
Due to increased volume that led to pipe deterioration and failure, ERI performed structural repairs and strengthening utilizing CFRP, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers, to existing 100 year old concrete pipe for the City of Atlanta.

Gwinnett Medical Center
ERI utilized carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) to provide additional structural capacity to eight elevator support columns at Gwinnett Medical Center. Once Installed, an intumescent coating was applied to the CFRP to provide fire resistant properties as required.

Six Flags Over Georgia
Epoxy Pressure Injection, Carbon Fiber Strengthening, Spall Repair and Patching, Elastomeric Coatings
Six Flags over Georgia located just outside of Atlanta opened in 1967 and is the second oldest Six Flags amusement park in the United States. As part of routine maintenance , ERI was hired to perform various concrete repairs to several of the park's rides including Splash Water Falls, Mine Train, and Ninja. The repair methods utilized include: spall repair of columns, epoxy injection repair of cracks, CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) installation at columns requiring strengthening, and installation of a waterproofing membrane for protection.
