Engineered Restorations, Inc. Partners With Tennessee Aquarium

The pedestrian arch bridges located at the entry plaza to the world famous Tennessee Aquarium were in need of restoration due to spalled concrete, water infiltration and leaking landscape planters. Engineered Restorations, Inc. was selected by the City of Chattanooga to perform the repairs needed. After removal of the existing landscape by the City, ERI began the restoration process by repairing all damaged concrete with a polymer modified grout followed by protective coatings including an acrylic pedestrian traffic coating to all walking surfaces, a liquid applied polyurethane elastomeric membrane to the inside of all landscape planters, and an acrylic “Thorocoat” coating to all non-walking surfaces. Once this was complete, ERI resealed all joints with urethane sealants and repainted the existing handrails to add the final touch to this restoration project.
